The Kortosfera Center for the Popularization of Science and Innovation is seated on the campus of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, at 11A Dybowskiego St. The Center features a modern interactive permanent exhibition, specialist laboratories, a microscope laboratory, and facilities for conducting scientific demonstrations.
The building has four floors and a usable floor area of around 2600 sq. m., including 1676 sq. m. of exhibition area. The Kortosfera project has been developed at a total cost of around PLN 32.9 million. The project was co-financed from European funds in the amount of PLN 16.6 million under the Regional Operational Program of the Region of Warmia and Mazury for 2014-2020 (Priority axis 9: Access to high-quality public services; Measure 09.03.00: Education Infrastructure; Sub-measure 09.03.03: Institutions that popularize science and innovation). The center is a modern facility that contributes to the development of education and culture in the Region of Warmia and Mazury.
The name of the Kortosfera Center for the Popularization of Science and Innovation was selected by way of a competition organized by the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn in 2019, and it makes a reference to the center’s operations and location (academic campus in Kortowo).
